Sam has a background in the fitness industry and a degree in International Business Administration from Tilburg University. Jesse works full-time in music as a producer and artist, with hundreds of millions of streams to his name. In conversations with entrepreneurs, particularly in fitness, hospitality, and retail, the same topic kept coming up: music. Or more accurately, the way music is managed within businesses.

Many entrepreneurs indicated that they pay high annual costs for music without feeling they have any control over it, expressing frustration that there is no decent alternative. We were asked remarkably often whether there was a better alternative to Buma/Stemra. When we investigated this further, we quickly arrived at royalty-free music, but also its limitations. What was available simply did not meet the standard that modern businesses require.
